28 August – 6 September 2017Vietnam/CambodiaIn the first of its kind, the Academic Partnerships and Public Advocacy (APPA) committee supported a teaching collaboration between the Faculty of Law and Public Affairs, PaññÄsÄstra University of Cambodia (FLPA- PUC) and  School of Law, Vietnam National University (SL-VNU), Hanoi.Prof. Phallack Kong, Ph.D. from FLPA-PUC and Lect. Huong Ngo, Ph.D. from SL-VNU collaborated on teaching two courses titled – “Human Rights in Southeast Asia” and “Human Rights in ASEAN” at the two universities.Dr. Kong taught  three classes – ASEAN Human Rights Mechanisms, Protecting Human Rights in ASEAN, and Business and Human Rights in ASEAN at SL- VNU. He also delivered a seminar titled  Mediation in Company -Community Conflict. The seminar covered non-judicial grievance mechanism under Pillar 3 of UN Guiding Principles of Business and Human Rights

She also delivered a seminar titled Labor Rights in Vietnam.Resources included the Human Rights in Southeast Asia vol.1 and Human Rights in Southeast Asia vol. 2Outcomes include: The first ever human rights specific course taught at FLPA-PUC for students pursuing Master in Law; A common curriculum addressing Human rights in ASEAN/SE Asia taught at the two universities; building a network of academics to undertake teaching human rights in Southeast Asia.
