Having both ratified the Convention of the Rights of the Child, Myanmar and Vietnam currently face challenges in tourism development with regards to childrens rights, particularly among child workers and on issues of child labor and sexual abuse. The lack of effective policies and gaps within the existing legal framework for the protection of children, are especially notable with regard to the responsibilities of tourist businesses and companies. In order to address the negative impacts of tourism development on childrens rights, necessary measures include amending the legal framework for the protection of childrens rights in the tourism industry, strengthening monitoring mechanisms, and creating awareness programs on childrens rights.
