This expository and feminist action research examines the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025 through a gender and human rights lens, and details how the framework for inclusive regional economic integration is androcentric and exclusionary to the rights of communities and marginalized groups, particularly marginalized women who make up almost half of the ASEAN people. Arguing that the realities and perspectives of women and other marginalized communities should inform the agenda and direction of the AEC and the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, the author calls for ASEAN countries to adopt the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) as an alternative framework of transformative equality in order to ensure greater inclusivity in regional economic integration.Â
