On 15–16 December 2025, the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, in collaboration with the Strengthening Human Rights and Peace Research & Education in ASEAN/Southeast Programme (SHAPE-SEA), organised the SHAPE-SEA’s Stakeholder Engagement Meeting at Room 109, the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, Mahidol University, Salaya.
On this occasion, 𝐷𝑟. 𝑉𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑟𝑢𝑡𝑎𝑖 𝐵𝑜𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑑, Executive Director of SHAPE-SEA and faculty member of the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies, delivered the welcome remarks to participants.
This meeting was a consultation with key stakeholders of the SHAPE-SEA project, held in a World Café format. Participants rotated through discussions on three main themes: knowledge production (research grants for graduate students, emerging researchers, and thematic research), research capacity building (training and skills development workshop), and knowledge dissemination (seminars, publications, and online sharing). The aim was to exchange experiences, challenges, and insights regarding the SHAPE-SEA research ecosystem.
Additionally, participants collaboratively designed strategic directions for SHAPE-SEA Phase 3 (2026–2028) across three outcome areas: strengthening research production on critical human rights, gender, climate change, and peace issues; building a sustainable community of practice among Southeast Asian researchers; and advancing research-to-impact pathways through public and policy engagement at local, national, and regional levels.
